• First, make your building energy efficient by air sealing the air ducts, attic, crawlspace, vertical air shafts, windows, and doors. Install compact florescent lamps and energy star appliances.
  • Solar energy is the radiation from the sun that reaches the earth. Photovoltaic cells sunlight can be converted into other forms of energy, such as heat and electricity. Solar cells can convert up to 22 percent of sunlight into electricity.
  • Solar panels can be installed on south facing roofs and generate electricity for personal use. If there is surplus, you are able to send it back to the grid, giving you a credit.
  • If your building has an unobstructed southern exposure than you may be eligible for roof top solar panels.
  • A solar system can be designed for your building needs and credits from the government may be available in your area.
  • Make your building energy efficient while improving indoor air quality and preparing for alternative energy.
  • An air tight, properly ventilated building with solar panels saves you money, reduces the buildings’ carbon foot print, and creates a safer, healthier, and more durable building.
